The Anti-Inflammatory Beverage: Golden Milk

You might be thinking what the heck is in golden milk and why should I consider drinking it? Golden milk contains almond/coconut milk as the base and turmeric and ginger as the main beneficial ingredients.

Turmeric is known for it’s anti-inflammatory actions in the body as well as it’s high antioxidant properties. This makes it an ideal supplement/addition to the diet for most people. We could all use some more antioxidants to support our immune systems and help prevent disease right? Turmeric is also what gives this drink it’s golden color.

Other Reasons to Include Turmeric

• Liver support/detox

• Thyroid and adrenal support

• High cholesterol/triglycerides

• Poor digestion/healing of the digestive tract

• Hormone Balancing

• Antioxidant activity

• Inflammatory conditions

• Achy Joints/Rheumatoid Arthritis

• Trying to optimize your health!

I personally, typically have higher cholesterol levels, which is why I ordered the liquid 1:1 Turmeric from Standard Process. I add it to an apple cider vinegar drink every morning. My triglycerides are low (I am very active and eat well), but cholesterol is often high. Who really knows what high cholesterol even is. We need a lot more research done in this area since we are following extremely old standards when it comes to blood work. I did see an increase in my cholesterol, which showed me that it’s something I need to pay attention to. This is most likely do to stress and inflammation, both of which I am working on. I do also enjoy getting the antioxidant benefit, liver, and digestion support.

You can use liquid turmeric or turmeric root.

Do Not Take More than 15mg daily of Turmeric If:

• Anyone taking anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication

Make Sure You Include

Healthy Fat: You want a non-inflammatory oil like coconut oil or full fat coconut milk to help absorb turmeric

Black Pepper: Makes the compound in turmeric (curcumin) 20X more absorbable. You only need a little!
